In class, you have worked as representatives of the United States , France ,
England , Italy , and Germany to author a peace agreement
to officially bring an end to World War I.
For this blog assignment, each group should post the peace treaty that
they have constructed. The post should
be written in the following format:
“We hereby agree to the following as terms for ending the
hostilities between the ‘Allied Powers’ – represented by The United States of
America, England, France, Great Britain, and Italy, and the ‘Central Powers’ –
represented by Germany and her allies:”
In the following space, you should list point by point in
detail the terms of the treaty upon which you have compromised.
Finally, your post should end as follows:

2. Free navigation of all seas for all nations, rather than one dominant power
3. An end to all economic barriers between countries, thus allowing all nations access to trade markets around the world
4. The German Army is to be removed from Russia. Russia should be left to develop her own political set-up.
5. Belgium should be independent like before the war.
6. France should be fully liberated and allowed to recover Alsace-Lorraine
7. All Italians are to be allowed to live in Italy. Italy’s borders are to be “along clearly recognizable lines of nationality.”
8. Self-determination and guarantees of independence should be allowed for the Balkan states
9. The Turkish people should be governed by the Turkish government. Non-Turks in the old Turkish Empire should govern themselves.
10. A league of Nations should be set up to guarantee the political and territorial independence of all states.
11. Germany will be stripped of the territory it had gained from Russia in the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk, and see that it is carved up to create new countries based on nationalities and common ethnic groups.
12. Germany is to get rid of one-third of its army and its navy.
13. Germany is to pay all of the reparations for the costs of the war.
14. Germany’s western border with France will remain the same as it was before the war.

-Each allied power receives part of the Ottoman Empire.
-Allow free trade for all countries, divide African colonies among allies.
-Austria must give Italy 500 million dollars.
-All Italians and Italian speaking
countries/area's, are allowed to live in Italy.
-Belgium is now independent.
-England gets control of the land Germany gained from the treaty of Brest-litovish, and England has the right to create new countries based on nationalities and common ethnic groups.
-Germany pays for all cost of the war.
-No secret alliances are available.
-Balance of Power is reinforced, stronger.
-League of Nations is put in to place, and U.S. has to pay Germany 15million dollars for convincing.
-Italy gets Alpine Mountains from Austria.
-Germany has to take full responsibility for the war.
-Italy gives live time supply of pizza to all involved in the war.
-Land that involves the Brest-litovish treaty is being made into new separate countries.

Germany is obligated to limit the size of their militay; land forces, navy, and artillery. The former Ottoman Empire will be split up; Italy attains part of Turkey, France gets part of Turkey, and england gets Palestine, Iraq, and Transjordan. The land aquired by Germany in the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk will be given to Allied Powers; France gets the northern portion, Britain gets the middle, and Italy gets from the northern point of Romania to the east. Also, ethnic and religous groups living in the borders of an empire have the right to form new nations. Germany is eligible for the payment of 75% of war to Allied powers for damages. There will be no open seas, and England will remain the dominant sea power of Europe. Germany will hereby withdraw any troops on foreign soil. Italy aquires the Alpine mountains and Adriatic sea port of Fiume, in Austria. Germany surrenders over sea ports to Allies and will abstain from submarine warfare.

There shall be no more secret alliances. All nations are allowed and able to trade with each other. There will be free navigation of all seas for all nations, instead of one dominant power. Belgium is allowed to regain independence, along with the Balkan States. The Turkish government will govern the Turkish people, and a League of Nations will be established to guarantee political and territorial independence of all states. Germany's navy will be taken away, with one fleet of 10 ships left for protection. Germany's army will be cut by one half, and the army must leave Russia. Germany will also return to it's original borders. Italians will be allowed to live in Italy, along clearly defined borders. Italians will receive the western Ottoman Empire, and will own the Adriatic Sea port of Fiume. Italy is also receiving 50 million dollars from Austria, and will give Americans, French, Italians, and British free pizzas on Mondays, and half price pizza every day other than that. France will be liberated and gets Alsace-Lorraine territory back. France also receives the Northern Ottoman Empire. Lastly, Russia gets land back from Germany that was given in the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk.

ReplyDeleteAs of World War One Italy takes possession of Austrian territory where ethnic Italians or speakers of the Italian language live, specifically in the Italian Alpine Mountains and the Adriatic Sea port city of Fiume. They also take Bulgaria. Also all Italians are to be allowed to live in Italy. Italy's borders are to be “ Along clearly recognized lines of nationality.” England gets the land from the Treaty of Brest-Litovsk and they also get Germany's northern ports. England also gains Palestine, Transjordan, and Iraq. England also get ¼ of Germany's submarines. France received a little bit also. France received half of Germany's military. France should be fully liberal. Germany got the beat down. Germany had to pay ¾ of the war debt. The German army was to be removed from Russia, Russia should be left to develop her own political set-up. Germany also gets land and military taken away from them. Although there is a lot of bad, there is some good. Germany gets to keep Alsace-Lorraine and ¾ of their submarines. The United States wanted the most. They said there was to be no secret alliances, free navigation of all seas for all nations, rather than one dominant power, all countries may trade with each other, Belgium should be independent like before the war. Along with the Turkish people should be governed but the Turkish government, all the non-turks in the old Turkish Empire should govern themselves.
